    It’s just the sound of micrometers hitting the ship constantly. Which would be heard inside depending on how the ship was insulated.

    My way of making this less annoying is to imagine that the space camera has a radio and we’re listening to radio waves. Probably wouldn’t be anything like the same sound but it’s very slightly more believable.
