This sort of magic is quite doable.
Unfortunately, like good and honest liberals, they don’t promote an application, they let corporations find solutions that meet their new legal standards. And those legal standards happen to allow corporations to demand ID, which they will happily do because they can sell that information or use it to psychologically manipulate you as a service.
Being able to track people is a desired feature, not a happy coincidence of leaving it to the private sector.
