To re-enable them, you have to set
misc.etc_dnsmasq_d
totrue
either by editing/etc/pihole/pihole.toml
or using thepihole-FTL
command:
sudo pihole-FTL --config misc.etc_dnsmasq_d true

I’m just running into this now. It also won’t let me log into the web interface. I’m glad I experimented with a second install before upgrading my primary pihole.
