The prequels had some great world building and interesting scenes.

I’ll gladly watch the prequels of my own free will. It’s the sequels that are hell.

You can pick a few morsels out of the carcasses of all the travesties that were shat out since the trilogy, but that doesn’t make up for the entire rest of each film.

there’s some good cinematography in the first of the sequels at least. I’m thinking of some poignant scenes where they conveyed emotion very well with imagery. i’ve been trying to get a screengrab, but my computer won’t let me so i’ll describe it. around 121 minutes in, they’ve landed the falcon at the rebel resistance base and are celebrating their victory. on the right side of the screen is the parked falcon, on the left you have a crowd of people celebrating, and in the middle you have rey and leia hugging and grieving. it’s probably my favorite still image from all of the star wars movies.

normally i just watch star wars as relaxing, low mental load sci fi. that specific scene caught my eye, whoever set it up deserves a sloppy kiss from a basset hound.

Let’s not forget that this is Anakin’s SECOND count of mass child murder. The first was shortly after his mother died and he slaughtered an entire tribe of Sand People, in his own words “Not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They’re animals, and I slaughtered them like animals.”

The woman he spoke those words to would go on to fall in love with him, scandalously marry him in secret, bear his twin children, and die of a broken heart over him moments later. George Lucas here demonstrating his full and nuanced understanding of women.

The entire prequel trilogy is sigh-fi.

Thanks for the bad memories! I also always wondered why nobody but the audience considered the Sand People massacre to be a bright red flag. Sand racism, I guess

I love Legos (the physical blocks), but making them into movies and comics is so insanely asinine, especially when they just literally recreate better forms of media with a shitty, weird, truncated copy.

Fake News. Vader was a great baby sitter. Some might even say he was the best baby sitter. Also his saber was yuge. Anyone that suggests that he might have harmed the children or was inappropriate with the children is guilty of treason and should be deported. And there is no list of people that might have harmed these children because the children weren’t harmed. Even if there was a list it was made up by windu and can’t be trusted, we can’t risk ruining someone’s life over made up charges. Now excuse me while I exile a bunch of people that spread lies and Vader and the emperor without any due process. Those people will be perfectly happy on their new planet of Alderaan.
