I’m just concerned that the government and corporations seem to be planning to destroy the current internet, perhaps turning it into a garbage dump using artificial intelligence, and create a new internet that will require personal identification.
This means that many overly extreme films, etc. may either be banned, or if you watch them, you may be fined for disloyalty or extremism for example.
Forgive my paranoia, but I’m interested in your ideas.
Digital swapmeets. People get terabyte hard drives, have a meetup, and expand your selections. Its worked since the 90s.
That and support your local library.
You’ve basically reinvented torrenting, but the first step of that is you need to save local copies of that art to your machine. Once you have it, peer to peer sharing will be the only vector for distributing it.
There will always be ways to circumvent censorship and shit. Get a VPN and uTorrent and we’ll get what we want.
Censorship in the USA has a long history including: HUAC, Hays Code, Blue Laws, PMRC, McCarthyism, the Satanic Panic, etc. Controversial media survived all that stuff and will continue to do so
Seed torrents(?)
Bootleg videos have been a thing forever. If we lose the internet, you just need to find your local shady flea market. They have plenty of pirated DVDs for sale.
