    This is one (of the many) rage inducing things that is happening. These “federal officers” don’t have jurisdiction, authority or purpose in being where they are and doing what they do. We’re watching an ‘off-duty officer from county X’ wander around county Y and shoot someone.

    Their protections are ‘in pursuit of duty’, which this isn’t, since it’s not their scope. I’m not a lawyer, but it strikes me that any order made illegally, like ‘do crowd control’ doesn’t shield them from consequences. I’m hoping the various public law groups are just slower to react than the news cycle since they are making air-tight cases. We did see multiple restraining orders and injunctions filed within hours of Pretti’s murder.

    I’ve sent letters to my weaselly government representatives (purple state, mine are all republicans) to demand we hold these thugs accountable, but I don’t think it’ll do much good because I’m not sure any of them are smart enough to read.
