I have zero confidence in voting for anybody anymore. The democrats help approve funding for the very department that’s been upsetting tons of lives for the past couple months.

The Steel Ball Run anime! I decided to read 80% of the manga (after the anime was announced) to save the finale for the anime so I have something to look forward to and the suspense is killing me.

I learned long ago that looking forward to things is a recipe for disappointment.
I keep doing it though. So midterm elections.
I’m gonna pursue getting more music in my life this year. I’m gonna find a way to get some nice bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer for my record player. I’m gonna get new accessories for my drum kit and keep pursuing my goal of playing daily. Supposedly I’m getting a groovebox, as soon as the seller ships it, and that’ll give me something to do when I have downtime otherwise. I’m really looking forward to engaging with music more and shit like random YouTube videos less.
Feeling happy again and moving forward on a personal level after all the hardship of the last two years! Had a really toxic and draining relationship that ended last summer. Took a few dark months of sorting things out afterwards. Now things slowly start to look brighter. I look forward to summer, a lot of festivals and stuff is planned with friends. I look forward to rebuilding my career.
In terms of state of the world, I hope for a lot, but there are few fixed dates of definitely good things to come. I do look forward to the launch of the Artemis 2 moon mission in April.

- making and playing on a new Minecraft modded server again
- watching closely to see if the matrix protocol becomes more widely adopted against censorship
- some PC parts becoming cheaper because of China’s more competitive industries (not gonna be ram prices though)
- buying and testing hytale
- broader adoption of Linux, specifically how well different government entities of different countries can establish work processes in it
- sensible AI regulation regarding specifically defamation and identity theft
- more competition in various industries
- maybe some kind of resolve in the Ukraine war?
- new anime series & movies

Lotta good broadway shows coming to Kansas City on tour.
Going to probably travel to NYC to see more of them, and visit some old friends I haven’t seen in a couple of years.
Road tripping to see my nieces senior costume showcase at her college.
Going to announce a few national roller derby tournaments probably.
Should be an okay year.
