    Dumping someone at a mountain trail isn’t a “male ego” thing. That’s just abusive and insane.

      The article dives into more nuance. The hypothesis being that it could have something to do with instances where men feel more of a need to be able to “complete” the “objective” of the hike, or may go on hikes which are more demanding than their partner may be ready for, or also that they may be ready for.

      Similarly, one of the experts in the article goes on to say that this they don’t particularly like making it a gender thing, but unfortunately there is some stark correlation
