We have a huge population reliant on fragile just in time life line that is now been broken. Things like glass, iron and aluminum smelter can’t be restarted if they go cold from lack of fuel. the gulf supplied most of the LNG for the generic drugs made in India, and it supplied the helium for the microchips made in Asia. The phrase I keep running across is deindustrialization.

NOTE: If you turn off the power to a pot line, the smelter turns into a giant brick. if you pour it out you have other problems. These factories are designed never to be shut down.
