A lot of nonsense apologia in these comments. Motivated reasoning and carefully cherry-picked sources. A fixation on the long history of western imperialist propaganda. Edgy contrarianism, ultimately.

What you won’t see much of:

Direct and lengthy criticism of China (the kind that isn’t just damage control)

    Citations from respectable research journals

Admissions that Marxist / socialist / etc nations have their own propaganda machines

Teens and Chinese agents, it is late, go to bed, you’ve got TikTok tomorrow.

Direct and lengthy criticism of China

Lol you’ll find much more meaningful criticism that isn’t just jerking off over an imaginary cartoonishly-evil-for-the-sake-of-being-evil version of China that exists in lib spaces, because they can engage with the China that actually exists.

Liberals are too embarrassed to admit a dictatorship has done a better job serving it’s people than a corporate owned “democracy”.

When Liberals say dictator, they mean 1 dude who can unilaterally decide policy for the entire country without anyone having any recourse. None of the executives of any communist country have that power. If they did, China wouldn’t give in to protests to end COVID restrictions and Cuba wouldn’t need to get the population to support constitutional referendums to give LGBT+ people rights, they’d just do it by dictate.
