There’s no iPhone that can last an entire century without charge (as the battery only lasts 20 hours) and even if you have a battery pack (the juice will eventually run out, having to recharge it again). I mean, the logic of everything not lasting an eternity applies to EVERYTHING (food, electronics, contactless pay, etc). as all types of food (natural or artificial) is susceptible of getting rotten over time regardless of preservation method.

You can flash freeze food but overtime: the food will still be spoiled one way or the other (heard of freezer burns?) meaning the food will taste awful even if you left it in the freezer for decades. Robots or AI need updating like with all forms of modern technology (all require a electronic source to operate), even solar isn’t designed to last 1 million years, since the sun’s direction and UV levels can shift over multiple lifetimes.

    If the universe itself isn’t eternal (as far as we can tell), then logically none of its constituent parts can be.
