Why do cooks and chefs cook in base 5 increments? For example setting the oven at 350 , 375, 450 and so on. Is there a reason for this or is this how it always has been done?

that’s not base 5. That’s just increments of 5… in base 10.

base 5 would be: 2400, 3000, 3300
