Protesting is the public expression of disapproval, objection, or dissent toward an idea, law, policy, or action. It is typically a organized, collective effort aimed at influencing public opinion or government policy, and it is a constitutionally protected right in democratic societies.

Rioting is a form of civil disorder characterized by a group of people engaging in public, disorganized violence, vandalism, arson, or destruction of property. Unlike peaceful protests, rioting involves criminal behavior, immediate danger to public safety, and a breakdown of legal order.

Its really exhausting to hear rioters being called protestors.

“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice”

      - Martin Luther King, Jr. , Letter from Birmingham Jail (1963)

History might not be repeating exactly, but it sure knows how to rhyme
