  • i remember seeing the smog clear in some cities during the lockdowns. because everybody stopped driving… it was…interesting…

as a person who happily rides their bike everywhere, and who hunts once or twice a year for meat, who fishes, and grows their own vegetables, bakes their own bread. i seem to be dodging most of this oil shortage inflation and price gouging.

now, if EVERYONE started doing the same, and sharing with each other what they have, and trading for what they dont have.

well, dang wouldnt that be just absolutely INSANE to think about? we wouldnt have to rely on a centralized logistics chain that drains us of all our wealth, with prices that dont reflect true value of the labours that brought them to us in the first place?

wouldnt it be fucking NUTS if we all just decided to pool our labour and resources together and build a system for ourselves where our labours are rewarded equal to their measure for all involved?

fuck that would be mind boggling, the devil probably fuels my whimsy on the matter. i shall self flagellate for such a SINFUL idea.

  • theres no way that wouldnt be gamified and taken advantage of. the whole idea behind open source is that it subverts the (programmed) urge to provide knowledge and products for profit, rather than the betterment of society.

if there is always a monetary incentive, it undermines the work of freeing people from paid slop, digital enslavement, and subscription services. it is a work of passion, and love, and it should remain unchained by something as illusory and temprorary as money.

that being said we do “live in a society” and people need to eat. if you use a program a lot and have money to spare, donate to your devs. we shouldnt lock open source behind a pay wall. that defeats the purpose of open source. devs are always more than welcome to do a hybrid of open and closed source of they wish.

  • feudalisms biggest enemy was capitalism. it perfected slavery and organized everyone willingly in exchange for stable trade of goods and services that they otherwise would not have access to. it lead to the industrial revolution, and its fast growth quickly convinced formerly feudal countries (like japan, as an example) to modernize their technological standards, as welll as their economies, so they could participate in that same system. out of fear of being left behind.

obviously capitalism has its flaws, its a horrible system with an expiration date that seems to be only a few short decades away now. and ironically its likely going to be surpassed by techno feudalism, or if a miracle happens, some form of democratic socialism.

  • brother, we can all read, and we can all see you are full of shit. lmao.

im gonna make some beef souvlaki and tzatziki sauce, then probably go and make sweet, passionate love to my wife, if we arent too full after dinner, then watch our programs until we fall asleep.

you can jerk yourself off in the comments, and bullshit the internet to your hearts content.

good luck kiddo, you’re gonna need to get a lot better at this if you want to be the “bestess ninernet debatoh” someday, lmao.
