Yeah, I’ve been swyping interchangeably between Norwegian and English on the same keyboard for years, and mixed in some Mandarin for good measure. That was on it’s own pinyin thing though, might not have affected the NB EN keyboard.

I write so many wrong words due to swype it’s ridiculous, but it’s so nice to write with otherwise. Maybe I’ve been too slack with it and ruined the prediction algorithm or whatever. Maybe I’m just inaccurate. If I actually care, I’ll make sure to proofread, but often I barely glance.

I’ve heard foreigners make their claim about what does and does not sound viking to them before.

It’s disappointing. Especially after hearing skål used in place of chug for the Viking Assassin’s Creed drinking game. It’s so very, very stupid. These Ubisoft idiots used to pride themselves on an attempt at a background of historical accuracy.

You might not mean it like that, but that’s what I’m hearing. I’ve been seeing variations of this sentiment since we started, with people calling communities of 10 “cozy” and using that feeling to justify wanting to keep Lemmy as a whole from growing past that.
