Ok.
IT guy from Germany
Ok.
When I started using Linux more frequently everyone recommended Manjaro for gaming. Since then many people berated me for even mentioning it…
I’ve been using it for years and never had any problems; both gaming and graphically intensive apps run perfectly. It’s best to go with all AMD, given how bad Nvidia drivers seem to be.
Nice! I lived near Ravensburg for a while a couple of years ago; nice region and they still get heaps of snow in winter so it’s infinitely better than where I live in BW…
Oh really? Where to exactly?
Thanks, me too. It’s gonna be a long way to go still but I’m determined to make it happen.
Regional NSW; I haven’t decided where exactly but Wagga is awfully nice
Germany; hoping to move to Australia soon-ish, though
Dell Latitude is now “Plus”
I recently spent 6 weeks in Australia, with much of that time spent outside. I did wore a hat for the most time but didn’t really bother with sunscreen; I got a nice tan but that’s about it.
I mostly just wear normal clothing at home; just jeans and a t-shirt or a sweater. I don’t really hang on to worn out t-shirts/sweaters, unless they have some kind of special meaning to me. Once clothes get bigger holes in them I just throw them out or re-purpose them as rags…
So yeah, I just wear the same stuff at home that I would wear outside.
Tokio; it’s just way too busy for me and all the tourists (particularly the ones that don’t have any manners) do their part.
Lately I’ve been enjoying playing Tetris DX on my Gameboy in my spare time. Keeps the brain busy and me away from my phone.
I’d stay where I am and just travel back before the internet existed/was widely adopted
Butter and raspberry jam. Butter, Vegemite and a slice of cheese is nice too for a more savoury snack
That’s a thing many people have warned me about to be honest and it’s not the first time I was obsessed with moving to a different country. Years ago, I was certain that I wanted to move to Canada, but that eventually subsided. My dream of moving to Australia has always been there in the background and I’m determined to do it.
I’m aware that it would become normal after a while, maybe even mundane, but if my trip taught me anything, it’s that even normality feels way better over there than here in Germany if that makes sense.
Germans don’t tend to speak English /s
The beautiful thing about not being a native speaker is that you can choose between adapting British or American English. Most people over here seem to lean towards American English. I myself try to be as British/Aussie as I can with my English.
Yeah, nah.
I have family all over NSW (and some in Queensland and ACT); I went to Sydney, Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Albury.
Out of all cities, I liked Wagga the best, just a nice and quiet country town with a great community. I can totally see myself living there quite comfortably.
I’ve seen the Blue Mountains, been camping in the bush, went to a few lookouts, zoos and national parks. My top spot is Bobbin Head in Mount Colah though.
More than happy to chat some more about it via PM if you want.
Same here, Australia just always had this draw on me; especially since meeting some of my Aussie family when I was still quite young. I have this one memory of one of my great cousins who’s this great big biker guy talking to me about motorbikes and me not understanding a thing at the time.
Seeing him again was just so cool…
Funnily enough, I had a burger with pineapple on it when I was in Australia. It was great, I really liked the juiciness and taste the pineapple brought to the burger.
Granted, it was at an Oporto (which is kinda like upscale McDonald’s with a Portuguese theme to it for the uninitiated), but it was pretty good nonetheless; I’d have it again.
