Looking up ‘blockbuster word origin’ on Searx.ng, it seems generally accepted that the term origin started with WWII bombs.

A polyglot is anyone who speaks way more languages than you feel comfortable with. /j
It really says something when just a basic sandbox environment for showcasing a procedural tool is as enjoyable as Tiny Glade. I would not be disappointed with having an entire Banished-type game with these building tools.
It’s meditative, really.
You don’t really think about all the small steps you do in other activities. You just follow the muscle memory you’ve built up. It’s the same deal for shaving.
I get by with a single blade no problem. Hot water rinse —> lather with bar soap —> shave with razor - first with the grain, then against the grain —> apply aftershave, letting it soak in —> apply moisturizer to shaved portions after showering.
The fact that it’s a T-shirt printed onto a T-shirt is the cherry on top.
I mean, that’s already the case for the majority of peoples’ transactions now. It’s a bit late to worry about it.
That said, we have our transaction badges (debit cards) to do transactions, and so long as we continue to use those, there won’t be a mandatory requirement to have your phone on you. At the same time, all those transactions are still stored and linked to you by your card provider, so you still lose privacy.
On top of that, everyone brings their phones pretty much wherever they go regardless of transactions, because they’re deeply helpful devices. That already gives you telemetry at all times, which can be logged in various systems.
TLDR: The loss of privacy happened as early as 2 decades ago. It’s just becoming worse as time goes on.
IIRC this also happened in Insurgency. I seem to recall being fired upon while my character screamed “FUCK SHIT SHIT”, bullets wizzing by.
Great game prior to changing hands and being nuked. It filled a niche between ultratactical gameplay and Call of Duty intensity. Squad does this alittle but not in the same style.
EDIT: Proof here.
I’ve heard certain clients or servers are able to spot crossposts and reposts, and mark them as crossposts/reposts. I definitely know that the app I use does not.
I think it’s doable. It’d likely require hashing posts so that Lemmy apps can keep track of those hashes.
Also, smaller servers means that it’s easier to spot criminal communities and boot their asses. Also individual servers can be cracked down on for hosting evil content, without all of Lemmy being destroyed.
Voyager also work good.
Basically Any nation attempting to jettison Israel would be devastated in multiple fashions, so none of them wants to start a large-scale fight.
This whole thing reads not like a codebase versus, but a traditional engineering approach (don’t act like you can patch this once you release it - get it done so it’s stable the first time) versus the more modern “move fast and break things” approach.
If they’re young enough they might be mimicking a joke without understanding the function of jokes.
