That’s pretty gross, definitely against all recommendations. I wouldn’t be comfortable with it. I also don’t think it’s super rare, and the average person probably won’t get sick from it that often. But I hold myself and those I care about to higher standards.

You can do that with modern cars, the risk is essentially zero. It’s more dangerous to not ensure you’re statically discharged / not get in and out of the car
