Even nanotech in bionic and otherwise altered eyeballs. This will need to be dealt with but I’m not sure how feasible it will be long-term

Or it could go like in David Wingrove’s Chung Kuo novels, and China takes over the world. A few hundred years from now, after having destroyed all culture, landmarks and languages, all on the planet are called Han Chinese.

They are taught that long ago during the Roman times China took over the planet. Mass lied to basically, so that there is no rebellion or knowledge of different times. It’s really cool, and 8 books or so, very scifi.

Man, this would fit right into Fight Club…
