I disagree about education being about memorization. Education is about knowledge being imparted. Testing is often about memorization, although I’d argue that’s usually only with poorly designed tests. To me, a good education is also a lot about teaching critical thinking skills.

I’m not positive, but i believe the majority of their support team was in Paris so I’d guess that’s why. Apparently they were given a choice between deportation and a trial and some of them basically had to be convinced to choose deportation so they could speak about their experiences.
