I did have a safety pin in my ear for a really short time lol. I’ve had my nose pierced twice. I had my eyebrow pierced. I tried a home job of piercing my lip years ago but it swelled up too much for the actually jewelry I had for it, so that didn’t happen. Mostly I’d lose the piercing or part of it that screws in or whatever, then not have the cash on hand to replace it. So.

I’m dying to start getting tattooed though and I’d love to get pierced again. Especially my nose, specifically a selection of pretty studs to choose from, maybe a ring for certain occasions. And I’d love to get some lobe piercings this time. This is all highly dependent on me getting my shit together though.

Edit: I don’t mean lobe stretching, I mean lots of piercings along the edges of my ears, whatever that’s called.

Would be awesome if there was a way to do this with user accounts as well. Especially with news like this, that’s a missing piece of this federation business. Because even once you’ve settled on lan instance, there’s no guarantee it’s going to stay open long term. And it kinda sucks on the user’s end to lose all your comment and post history like that. Nope. But that’s just because I’m wayward and perpetually broke. If I had my shit together I for sure would because it’s been one of my main sources of information through the years, whether it’s an interesting article or lists of things to collect / watch / listen to. And it’s not enshitified or tacky and provides information in text form and not video form. So if it stays that way, the magical future me that is finally financially stable definitely will.

Not using it but I’d probably use it for a Lemmy app tbh. The average Lemmy app seems to have way more useful features than the vanilla desktop experience. Other than that, probably just games, although it’s not like the same selection on Android is exactly stellar.

Yeah I like the idea behind this but the fact that out of the 12 months, this was the month that was chosen for this is fairly eyebrow raising. I’m all for men becoming better people and freeing their minds, having their own liberation movement. But then someone has to come along and specifically choose pride month for this, just making it look bad all over again. It’s like men can’t be happy unless it involves taking away someone else’s happiness.

Seems to be 24 hours now, from what I’ve seen. I waited until 24 hours after the timestamp on my user settings file and now I’ve been able to successfully import today. It was also 24 hours last time I encountered this a month or two ago.

It is really annoying. It’s little things like this that they should make a priority to fix because it’s things like this that’ll make people look for another platform in the mean time.

South Africa. Might be eligible for UK citizenship though thanks to a recent-ish change that allows maternal ancestry (how progressive of them), just need the funds to get that ball rolling. And I missed out on Dutch citizenship because my father had to be the only one of his siblings born in South Africa and not the Netherlands.

When I tried to import all of my subscriptions from my old account into this one, I accidentally clicked export instead of import. Now it’s been saying “try import or export again in a few minutes” for the last few hours. This has happened to me before when I’ve tried exporting twice in one day. Apparently “a few minutes” equals 24 hours or something.

And if someone tells me that this is a known bug from 2 years ago that has never been addressed, it’ll piss me off even more lol.

It’s unfortunately not wearable now. It was already not new to start with and this is from 15 to 20 years ago. So it’s got a tear or two and the material is fragile these days. Been thinking of what to do with it, possibly might frame it or something.
