19 days agoThey may not even be trying, it’s just an inherent feature of the business model. They make money from ads. The more time people engage with the content, the more money they make. People argue more in the comments (or, in other words, engage more) when they’re angry. So by tuning everything for max revenue you get ragebait bubbling up as a natural consequence.
That’s why you’re getting that stuff. They don’t (want you to know they) know anything about you, so they’re just feeding you the generic sludge which generates the most engagement: Ragebait. My history is enabled, and I just get an endless flow of woodworking videos, nerdy facts and comedians.
