I’m using nixos-anywhere to install and then deploy-rs to deploy updates to nixos vps’s.
Also using agenix for managing secrects for the services so that I can easilly have them all in a public repo, so that other’s could take a look and take inspiration.

This week moved all my vps’s to nixos, so am now able to use one flake for my desktop and all my vps’s which significantly lowers down the time I need to manage my vps’s.
Nowto move my proxmox homelab server ( an old desktop pc I bought recently ) and all my server’s/devices witll be running nixos.
EDIT: An issue I’m thinking about is getting a “proper” server. Not a server like a server rack server, but a mini pc or something along those sides wbich would be a lot stronger and a lot more power efficient than the current 10+ y/o desktop pc I’m using currently.
So would like some reccomendations on that front, like what are some good mini pc brands and mini pc’s that I could have raid seted up on for nas or good budget parts and case to make one myself.
Not good, most people live paycheck to paycheck. High unemploynent rate when not summer because we only have jobs in tourist season which is summer. If you aren’t living in a bigger city 0 public transport.
If you live in smaller cities/countryside you will most likelly be forced to drive at minimum 10km to closest store’s, or 60+km to closest er and 100+ km to any decent hospital that’s any good.
And let me not starting about the fact we adopted euro recently and the inflation which mak£s us try to survive on 850 euro wage with 500 euro rent and food costs where just one day trip to the store will eat up 25 euro minimally.
As a tourist atraction croatia is amazing, but as a place to live in it’s not unless you are lucky and came from outside the balkans, in chich case you can thrive in the country as shown by a lot of americans who come ti live in Croatia after living on high wage jobs there and having expendable money ( average yearly income here barelly passes 12k euro last time I checked ).

I started robotics at 12, started linux aroumd the same time but had to use windows for the program used for robotics competitions,
Stopped attending them at 14 so started using arch right after that and used it for 6 years.
After that used gentoo for a year at 20, and now I’m 21 using nixos.
I also started selfhosting with linix vps-s at around the age of 18, with debian. And last week started to move all my server to nixos with nixos-anywhere and deploying the server with deploy-rs.
Might make a blogpost on my selfhosting journey and on how I use nixos for selfhosting. Haven’t made a post since the start of the year.
Where I live ( the good old balkans ) we barelly ever call anybody for work, just because we are all handyman.
Just last year I painted my gradmas house and assembled a new kitchen for her ( was 20 at the time ).
And just in general all furniture and most work that’s done on the house we do ourself, except work that is only legally able to be done with professional’s or we didn’t have experience with before, but learn how it’s by watching the contractor and call another one for that kind of jobs.
Our average holiday’s and day off’s are just working on our houses because we are too cheap to pay a cont$actor for it.
Modified my nixos config even more, started hosting crafty controller so that ny friend can spin up mc servers easilly.
And like every week for months now trying to force my self ti write for my blog.
Also started working out again after 4 months now that temps outside aren’t in negativrles ( metric system )

There was a woman here that used to work at a national park for 20 years but only 5 - 7 months every year, and after 20 years they finally accepted her for full time, she is now 47 but needs to work a minimum another 30 years to get minimal pension.
She didn’t have the means to leave the country to look for work, and no other job wanted to hire her even thiught she would send couple hundred job application each year.
Now she is stuck having to work till she is almost 80 for any kind of pension.
Np on that front, my pops is a mechanic so got that covered.
My grandpa worked in a couple diff countries in eurrope back in 1900’s, he worked for 5 years in 2 diff countries and then came back to work in his home country for 30 years and ended up getting pension from 3 countries.
Atleast back then you had to work for 5 years in a country to get their pension.
