Let’s have a little online conference on lemmy to discuss ways to get people to care more about their privacy. Things might be different than 2010 now:

1. people are definitely waking up to reality of fascism.
2. privacy-conscious apps (both FOSS and closed) are now more convenient than ever.

maybe we just need the correct memes (in the Dawkins sense) to infect people with to make privacy a major issue on people’s minds.

my experience is that normal people just accept it when faced with an inconvenience, rather than think about ways to change it.

I saw Minority Report, and I think it has a plot hole. If you can see the future then you can change it, meaning that if there is any way to relay information from the oracle to the person who would commit the crime, then that could change whether or not the person will commit the crime.
