Yes, we’ve always been the bad guys. People are noticing now because the chickens have come home to roost.
I want to cancel my residency and move to Canada.
Unfortunately, you really can’t afford to ignore his words, because sometimes they do lead to actions. Hell, people ignoring his words is how he got re-elected in the first place.
Yes. If you can’t afford to leave a decent tip, then don’t get the service.
I’m all for using “theme” as a replacement.

It’s spelled Y-E-A.
That’s a pretty weak argument considering that there are other ways to get notifications, such as vibration. Also, if you’re getting notifications every minute or two, there’s no reason to have it play a sound or do anything else. The only reason you need to be notified is when it’s an infrequent occurrence.
So? Put it on vibrate.
Can proprietary software be justified?
Yes, but you might have to muck around with
/etc/fstab
. The reason is because when you install to your root partition, the installer will create a new /home in that root partition. (Unless you have an installer that’s smart enough that you can tell it otherwise.)You should be able to mount the partition in any case, but to have the system recognize it as /home it has to be properly set up in fstab.
