A fun tool for discovering new bands: https://www.music-map.com/
Been revisiting my days of BMX and skating with Bad Religion, NoFX, Rancid, and some other ska stuff.
I don’t usually like to listen to ska for leisure, but I will absolutely skank 'till my legs fall off at any ska show that happens to be within an hour’s drive. Something about the energy at those shows… I get to see Big D and the Kids Table pretty often since I’m around Boston, and I discovered another great band called PWRUP a while back at a local show.
Also on the subject of trombone players who do crowd work, Kill Lincoln is another exceptional band who deserve more listeners.
I live about an hour from Eugene, OR so I see the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies regularly.
jesse welles.
I’ve long been listening to Defiance, Ohio but I somehow missed their most recent album. I threw that into rotation last week and have been enjoying it.
I finally put out my EP so I’m working on some new things. I’ve been listening to this quite a bit:

This is an early, technically Lemmy exclusive, work in progress. If you’re curious about the EP:
Are you programming most of this in something like Fruity Loops? The snare work sounds real organic if so
Yes, I’ve been using Ableton for all my tracks, learning new tricks along the way.
The drum samples are actually from a French Quarter sound pack; they’re Louisiana style brush/jazz drums.
Very cool
Honestly, not much. But I just ordered some Halloween compilation cds and some relaxing sounds cds. It’s gonna be so spooky. But chill around here come September 😂
Just listening some 2010s songs, but currently listening to Trouble is A Friend by Lenka
Bit of a folk/bluegrass kick: John Hartford, Sturgill Simpson, Gillian Welch
