Re-listening to Cantonese Pop Music that nobody here is gonna understand, but I’m just gonna scream into the void:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu_FSptjRic (海闊天空)(translated as: Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies) This one I think some of the Hong Kong Protestors used it as a sort of protest anthem, because the “never give up” and “freedom” were in some of the verses (the song itself isn’t overtly political tho, I don’t think)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq6gZBTwPFk (光輝歲月)(Glorious Years) Fun fact: This one was inspired by Nelson Mandela’s struggle against the Apartheid.

Wong Ka Kui died in an accident in Japan in 1993(? I think), so yea… RIP. His voice sounds so cool. Maybe its just because I happened to grow up with the Cantonese Language that these songs feels more emotional to me.
Because my parents words were never as hopeful as these songs, these lyrics, so these songs kinda acts like a postive Cantonese “Role Model” I guess to cancel out the negativity and anxiety, that my brain had associated with the Cantonese Language.
