I saw the screenshots. The upvotes didn’t even break 2 digits. At most, the comments would get removed and the users banned. Saying it makes sense for the entire sub to be taken down for the dozen or so idiots is, undeniably, bullshit.
The same types of comments have been made on lemmy. The instances did not get taken down or any legal action. Suggesting otherwise is nonsense.
Shit like that was frequently posted on the_donald back in the day, except targeting minorities, and the admins were fine with it

Tbf a lot of people wanted to nuke the sub, and I would bet a lot of those were fake accounts to force Reddit to ban it. The actual users would’ve been inclined to behave and keep their space.

Last week, I reported a popular post joking about raping two women who OD, just to get told to shut up by the mods. So the fact that this loser got the entire community banned just shows the type of justice you can expect from social medias controlled by tech-bros. very little is considered inciting violence on reddit, I had a comment get removed for that once it was “I dont like h1b visas, it makes it harder for americans to get jobs when hella ppl are already struggling to find jobs with degrees rnow” they removed that for inciting violence than temp banned me for a week for appealing it

I expressed my opinion dear, that’s how the internet works.
What I’m saying is, not everyone that says anything slightly critical of what you think is a “class traitor”. You aren’t calling out opposition, you’re ostracizing people who want to see the same thing you do.
I also expressed my opinion. My opinion is that if you want to see any progress, it’s best to not be a twat to others for no reason. And that “bootlicker” is not a term for genuine people that want to see that progress.
The opinion posted was justifying reddit behaviour while ignoring the fact that this behaviour really only happens when the oligarchy gets butthurt.
We all know the “legallity” and I was on that sub yesterday and the comments were hardly illegal with few exceptions most of it was just piling on bad sentiment against President Musk.
So I read OP as bad faith actor and provided my opinion on his behaviour, I could be wrong but it seems there is no shortage of clowns trying to to tell everyone to be “reasonable”
