I think they mean fish and chips takeaway
Brighton, South Australia
Chips are Australian for fries
NUGG
ETS
PRAWN
Any Australianese here who can explain what a “CHICKOO” is? My independent research only gives me some weird Mexican fruits.
My independent research by googling chickoo australian gave me this. I’m not Australian though, so no guarantees.
…first sold in 1951 as the “Chicken Roll” despite not actually containing chicken…
Wut
It sort of looks like a Chicko Roll, although I’ve never heard them called a ”chickoo” before

Yep, it’s chicko rolls
Such generic signage is a turn-off, too. They have a decent logo, they could have leaned into that motif. Instead, it looks like a generic fast food joint.
They’re right on the beach, they don’t need quality signs, just good enough fish, chips, potato cakes, and chiko rolls
They also do good enough coffee
It’s cheaper in Arial.
“Hey pal, the fish stays here. Only the chips are takeaway.”
I mean the fish is probably from the area, so it counts as Brighton fish, right?
(Had no idea you Aussies had a brighton as well, bet the beach is a bit nicer over there)
