What about market socialism? A market economy should be necessary in the transitional stage between capitalism and communism (or a socialist-democratic dictatorship of the proletariat, if you prefer).
I’ll tell you my opinion on this, any ideology (left, center, or right) or philosophy can sound so good and appetizing on paper, but when it comes to people managing it, the chances of corruption and decay are always present and its fate is doomed from the start, even if it goes through a successful phase. Maybe small scale communal markets can work but it’s still going to be living under capitalism, which is expensive. Capitalism has more power because it has all the money and the seductions, and like the right said, empathy is weekness, which translates to we don’t care about the unfortunate who are suffering. Capitalism has caused so much damage that we need a reset button like human extinction.
