    One could also view fertility rates below replacement levels as a sort of collective “soft suicide.” I think they have many of the same drivers behind them.

    Our society is fundamentally ill.

      It is a world wide phenomena though it also corresponds with increased education among woman. Even China now has a birth rate problem. Overworked urban people also simply don’t have time to date and marry.

        I’ve always seen the graphs correlate to “industrial society”

        Edit: The education of women has been linked to delayed fertility. Which is less of a problem than like 16 hour work days, surveillance systems, dna paternity tests, tv, games, etc.
