This is what’s wrong with the whole Lemmy federation project, your only option is to dissect the community, all because of the elephant in the room, an unwillingness to just allow you to dissect the moderation instead. For a platform with so many so called Anarchist and socialists, they sure do seem ok with taking the power from the people and just handing it over to a select group of overseers.
Wat?
People who want to participate in World News want to participate in World News. They shouldn’t have to move to an entirely different community just because they like the moderation from Tweedle Dee more than the one from Tweedle Dum. Gotta say, the “Wat?” does not precisely inspire confidence in the comprehension and responsibility for your community alternative, nor do the downvotes from both you and your fellow mod, Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com . Do you often need to portray yourself as another user, “lumpenproletariat@quokk.au” Deceptichum@quokk.au ? You reek of karmawhore.
There are multiple world news communities, federations strength is in allowing for multiple communities with different standards and ideals so that users have the choice of where they wish to post too.
The ‘wat’ is because what you said was ridiculous with your usage of ‘dissect’ and vagueness.
And we have the ability to change our display name, that’s something chat services have provided for decades. It is is not portraying myself as a different user, it’s changing my name.
That’s the same sort of “strength” you would have if trying to email someone required you to use a different email provider to do so, each time limiting whom you can include in the chain. “Different standards and ideals” is just a load of words to describe your choice of moderation. Can’t say I’m surprised you would be so defensive, you encompass a lot of what I criticized from the beginning in this chain.
So rather than ask for clarification, you just become a worse offender of what you are projecting. Nice.
Ok, Deceptichum. Apt username except for the last part. Sometimes I think some people make a game out of being rather straightforward with them.
Are you in a race to accumulate as many communities as you can neglect to moderate? Because I see you already have quite a few in the profile where you seem to portray yourself as some sort of joke account in the utmost karmawhore manner.
Talk about going out of the frying pan into the fire!
If you find the observations insulting, then you shouldn’t make them defining character traits in the first place. Hope your future users enjoy the quality of what you think “suffices” when they find themselves at the end of the moderation hammer.

thread cleanup - This better? If there’s really an issue and you aren’t just writing whatever excuse comes to mind in the modlog, then it would help more to update the rules or ask the user. Then again, seeing who voted what leans the answer a bit there on the scale.
It’s the strength of being able to email johndoe@yahoo.com instead of johndoe@gmail.com.
No, a simple ‘wat’ suffices.
I make communities I would like to see on the Threadiverse. I’d love to have other people put in the time and effort to grow them so that I didn’t have too.
If all you have left is meaningless insults, I think we’re done here.
