    No. It’s a loss for everybody. It doesn’t save grandma, and it prevents power users from using the device they own.

      I know scammers will get people to install remote access programs on PC, but hadn’t heard of it on Android. It does seem like some kind of middle ground though…

      Did you even read the article? It block sideloading, the first time, once, for 24 hours, and locks the options behind the Developers Menu. Do you not have 24 hours patience to enable sideloading on new/updated devices?

      They ain’t blocking sideloading, they’re just making it more inconvenient for novices to enable under the whim of scammer directions. If it’s too hard for you to enable Developer Mode and follow the directions, well maybe you shouldn’t be sideloading apps in the first place.
