Anything by Elvis Costello. Can’t stand that wanker’s music. Like 2 out of 5 for any of his songs would be horribly overrated to me.

No no, keep that one. They wrote it about us bombing the living hell out of their stuff. It would be better if it mentioned the arson.

ok. story time. Had this friend of friend in highschool. Super stoner idiot type which was kinda funny because he hung out with our nerd group regularly (burnout/nerd crossover was surprisingly not uncommon). We are at a pizza hut with a jute box. Guy goes and puts some money in and is like. Oh man I saw this sound that sounds so cool. Hey Dude. He was very disapointed.

For me, pretty much all of Bob Dylan’s production. I know he’s supposed to be a Nobel-Prize-winning genius singer and songwriter, and everybody is in total awe of his talent, but… honestly, I’ve seen people sing better and play the guitar better in the metro.

I don’t dislike Bob Dylan, and his lyrics were a powerful product of his time. But he’s always seems very meh to me as a musician. I just don’t get the hype.

Bob Dylan was loved for his song writing. People didn’t love his voice or his playing, but they loved hearing him in spite of his voice because his songs meant so much.

The most popular versions of his songs were often recorded by other folk groups.

Bob Dylans entire thing is that he can’t sing and he knows it.

Hes talked many times about how ridiculous it felt for him to be grouped with some of the greatest singers of all time when he was at award shows or other music stuff.

Just look at his expression in the We Are The World music video:

      Confusion

He was important for the time when songs were political statements, not just money grabs like today. Don’t wait for a Taylor Swift “Fuck ICE” song anytime soon.

But I hate how Boomer music is rammed down our throats and are told we have to love it. Fuck the Beatles.

For him I think it was right time right place. How many bands/musicians could be transplanted to another time and still have success with the same music? Very few.
