I have seen how the wealthy build their homes. I have seen mobile homes built with more integrity and higher quality materials.
new homes in general are fucking trash, but they will literally frame out a structural interior wall on 24in centers. that means a stud every 2 feet instead of 16 inches. all that holding up 4 tons of sheetrock, plaster, two floors, a roof, and all your shitty ikea furniture. that shit may fly in some regions, but not in my house.
I’ve seen rich people fake out a LVL with a couple 2x10s and drywall over it to make it look “bigger”. because the cost of a LVL was a couple thousand more.
I’ve seen rich people cut through their floor joists to install the drain to their indoor sauna.
rich =/= intelligent
rich white people have no fucking clue how to build or care for a home.
I always laugh when I see all these celebrity homes selling for millions when I know it’s hot glued and scotch taped together.
I’ll share my personal experience even, my own home. in a very wealthy historical neighborhood. the last three owners were

all wealthy and highly educated people.
there was a leak in the roof, that was growing mold in the walls from the 3rd floor to the basement. it was flooding the basement. When I found it, I immediately started tearing the wall down. on that corner of the wall I found 3 layers of wall paper, and dozens DOZENS of layers of paint.
in almost 70 years, not one owner until I came along fixed the issue.
you know what the issue was?
the downspout was too small. the backup caused the trough gutters to overfill and spill under the slate roof and into the wall.
don’t get me wrong, I love my home. it’s over 100 years old, but rich fucks don’t know how to take care of anything but their money.
