It’s not, Japanese racists just harp on the incidents, like Anglosphere white supremacists types amplifying SAs by refugees or literally any black crime
There were four reported incidents in 2024 with 26,000 troops stationed there.
If you don’t understand the further implications of such a low rate in literally any population you obviously don’t give a shit about the problem anywhere for any genuine reason.
Now, if you want to talk about how Hegseth and co have deliberately hampered efforts to fight the incredibly high internal rape problem in the US military as a whole…
The issue is not the rate of occurrences, but the lack of any accountability. The worst that can happen to the servicemen is getting relocated so they can terrorize a different community
Lmao get real propaganda bot, they’re not priests and this is one of those crimes the military actually cares about because it affects mission readiness and more importantly the ability to keep their occupation base.
Fun Fact: you can actually get tried for crimes against civilians twice, once in the local civilian courts and once for military crimes.
the internal rape problem is aan external rape problem, too. i can’t speak to okinawa/japan or japanese racists but the stories i’ve heard from troops deployed to the phillipines make my skin crawl. there is far too much of the military apparatus who think they’re justified to do whatever they can get away with by their need to keep america safe.
meanwhile, they’ve been brainwashed. they don’t keep america safe, they maintain extraction economies. and the culture of rape in the american military only engenders hatred of america in those extraction economies.
the problem isn’t specific to any base or to any internal or external statistic. the problem is a culture of not viewing women as humans within the military

If you think the US Armed forces tries its soldiers for rape on a regular and consistent basis, i have a bridge to hawaii to sell you.

Uh huh. Well the crime statistics sure don’t reflect the random stories from rapists you hang out with for some reason.
wonder what it could be… could it be an officer corps who actively covers up anything and everything?
and “hang out” is a strong word. they were men who had power over me in college because they were athletic coaches and directors
