The previous tenant here had a cat and it’s obvious. Curtains have claw marks in them, door facings chewed on/scratched pretty badly. Pretty sure my dog left no evidence but hair we may have missed at our old place.

I had an apartment, I didn’t notice signs of a pet but definitely a sad family. The guest bathroom had pictures of castles, princesses and knights drawn in crayon on side of sink cabinet next to toilet. There was a scene with a dragon breathing fire at a knight holding a shield towards the fire protecting a young princess from the flames. There was a large wine stain on balcony floor. Multiple sets of knuckle prints on the inside side of the door to the apartment. There was a cabinet hanging I’ve the kitchen island but there were several sets of screw holes to hold a wine rack which for some reason had to be redone several times, either too much wine and it ripped out or too much anger and it was torn off.

There must of been a couple with a young child having relationship issues…

Wow, that is very sad indeed. I feel like you may be right about why those particular damages occurred.

Yeah that’s our scenario too. There’s just little hints of kid and cat damage here and there but nothing we noticed when first viewing the place.

How the hell would a cat chew or scratch up a door like that? I’ve only ever seen such damage from dogs.

My cat has only ever torn up the couch, but a friend of mine has a cat that goes ham on their banister, and the wood is probably missing ~2 inches after a few years

Yeah it was probably a dog that climbed up the curtains 5 feet and left holes in them, Sherlock. And I’m glad you realize that cat scratching posts are a scam because they totally don’t exist for the literal exact problem I observe. Overconfident once again. You act like you saw the damage yourself and smelled a dog despite knowing literally nothing. Seems to be your MO.
