I don’t know if this concept really falls under mimicry. It’s more like that time that one bird species:“re-evolved” back into existence. except we weren’t there to see it and the bones make us think that we are just missing the fossil record for the in between time frame.

I might be wrong, but I think they meant a DnD mimic rather than biological mimicry.
