Was JavaScript even a thing in 1994? Certainly flash wasn’t. I wonder what this looked like. I remember text websites with the lynx browser.

It uses the isMap image element to send the coordinates of where you clicked on the image and then returns an updated image created by the server.
Oh nice thanks. So it uses what we used to call cgi and server side image generation. Not bad for 1994.
