Like if there’s a huge order going to what you clearly know is a single person living alone, how often (if at all) are you internally judging them?
Only time I ever did was when one guy brandished his gun at me because his pizza took a long time to get delivered
I’ve done Uber Eats.
Generally the only thing I ever judged people on is getting shafted on a tip when I know their house was worth over a million dollars.
Thank god we don’t have a tipping culture.
Thank god we don’t have a law that allows some lines of work to basically be unpaid, which forces tipping.
That’s the thing us Europeans have to remember. People who work for tips actually need tips or they make no money.
It’s an incredibly evil and dumb system. But a foreigner huffing about it while visiting the US isn’t going to change the system. Tip.
It seems its always the rich folks who consistently dont tip.
Ordering a lot for yourself doesn’t necessarily mean eating it all at once. Leftovers are good too.
That said, there was a time when I worked in a pizza place that sold by the slice. I had to predict what we’d sell 10 minutes in advance without creating too much waste or leaving customers waiting. Sometimes fat people would come in, order way too much, complain about needing to wait for more, and generally making my day worse. I realized I was starting to resent fat people and it was adding to my already miserable mental state working that shitty job. So whenever it came up I started playing baby elephant walk in my head, and I wasn’t so resentful anymore.
For deliveries, the only customers I judged were the ones who treated us like shit, lied to get free stuff, or who were terrible tippers despite clearly having the money.
Fuck yeah I did, but only if I pull up to a McMansion with a larger order and get no tip.
Section 8 no tip? I get it.
McMansion large tip? Thanks have a nice night.
McMansion no tip? I’ll remember you and shake your soda next time. Probably stop at the store for snacks and a pack of heaters on the way too.
Idfc how much you order or if you’re 1 or 15 people, or anything else like that, but rich stingy cunts get judged.
(Also if you order and immediately hop in the shower making me stand there knocking for 5min when I show up, I’m mad and think you’re dumb. Just shower after you eat or before you call ffs, I have two other runs in the car getting cold because you thought you were slick.)
I door dashed for a bit between jobs. Never judged the customer unless they were exceptionally poor tippers. In my area, tip is only added on after service. One time it was pouring rain and this dude answered the door, told me how shitty it must be to deliver in that kind of weather, and then closed the door and no tip ever came through.
I will admit, sometimes I will forget to tip immediately and it might take a few days before I open the app and realize I didn’t tip. But it will come.
I judge my delivery drivers — especially the ones that deliver the wrong fucking order and then run away. True story.
I had multiple people leave it at the door across from mine at an apartment I used to live at. Once, someone left food at my door, and knocked which is surprising where I live, when I hadn’t ordered anything. That time it was for the person across from me, and they opened their door because they were waiting for a knock.
Other times, I had people just straight up leave the food at my door, no knock of any kind, and they wouldn’t even mark it as delivered. I found out later after going looking for my food and seeing it cold on the floor.
Once, a driver actually stole my order. They picked it up because I saw them pull into the restaurant on the map, then a minute or so later cancelled the pickup. The next person who went to grab the order messaged me saying the restaurant told them someone picked it up already, but thankfully they were able to make another for me. I was pretty pissed that time.
I doordashed at the beginning of the pandemic for over a year. Only time I judged people was when they ordered a bunch of stuff at 2am. And even then, it wasn’t really judging, more just thinking “this dude is probably high as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu”
Better than them driving I’m sure.
Oh for sure, I have nothing against it and weed is legal here. I’m thankful because it’s partly why I was able to make 30+ an hour delivering food for a bit
A little unrelated, but I used to live like a block away from a McDonald’s. Which fucking sucked when I was high late at night (they closed their lobby at 7, so “late” for this Christian-family-owned franchise that blasted Christian worship music literally all day every day was any time after then) and I couldn’t just walk my ass down and get some fuckin nuggets.
And fuck me, or any other pedestrian during the pandemic, because at one point they didn’t even have their lobby open, so you could only order through the drive-thru or the app, and fuck you if you don’t have a car but use the app
Can they tell how many people live at that address somehow?
I don’t know. Tiny studio apartment, 29 cats, they straight up asked?
I only judged people in a handful of cases
If you ordered fountain drinks instead of bottled sodas when we had both available, that’s kind of a dick move.
One lady once ordered a few cups of milk (in her defense, she did tell me when I delivered it that she was injured or her car was in the shop or something so it was an easy way for her to get milk without needing to go to the store. This was before grocery delivery really took off)
And I judged you if you gave a shitty tip or took too long to answer your door.
