The uprising was a CIA backed coup attempt, confirmed by the CIAs internal documents. I don’t know how else to tell you that you’re using the empires rhetoric against fellow leftists. Disagree with tankies? Fine, cool, I’m down to oust them too, as soon as we overthrow the empires. Until that happens, there is no difference between you and a tankie to our common enemy.

From the article, because you know who used it but not why it was used:

"tankie” was initially used to describe the Communist Party of Great Britain, which supported Nikita Khrushchev’s sending the Red Army to put down the 1956 Hungarian Uprising.

I think you misunderstand what tankie means entirely.

It literally was a slur used to describe the British socialist / communist party that was in lockstep with the Soviets and was FOR their brutal responses. Saw them as right and didn’t speak against them.

It is literally a term used to slur folks who believe the “through any means necessary, especially violence”

I don’t care why the Hungarian Uprising happened in context to how the Soviets reacted and where the term tankie came from, that’s irrelevant to what is being said. I don’t doubt the CIA had a hand in any of it, but I know it was the Soviet Tank Diplomacy that the term tankie is referencing.

You can’t just arbitrarily rewrite history and try to change something because you don’t like it, you can try but it just makes you wrong.

“Yeah well the police wouldn’t have been so brutal to those protestors if the protestors hadn’t been protesting”

Nope, I am saying “Yeah well the police wouldn’t have been so brutal to those CIA agents if the CIA agents hadn’t been CIA agents.” Are you for CIA-backed, claimed “freedom” fighters? Cause that sounds like you’re functioning as an appendage of the US empire.

Now cite CIA article about how food quality in 80s USSR was better than the US.

This is typical tankie “BIA conspiracy” gibberish, albeit with a more cunning duplicitousness.

conspiracy theories are founded in myths; this one is the cia literally admitting to doing it.

Totally! I was fascinated by their statement that no one in Hungary wanted to not be dominated by a blood-thirsty, genocidal regime that collaborated with the Nazis to split up Europe.

I mean look how well things worked out for Hungary under Soviet dominance! Excellent quality of life for the next 40 years!

The GIA even forced hundreds of thousands of Hungarians out of their homes and into Austria (and to a lesser extent Yugoslavia) to give legimacy to their “coup” that was definitely not a mass movement for self-determination!

to be generous, that genocidal regime that collaborated with the Nazis is now the world’s super power.

The one where the USSR invaded the Baltic nations and Poland. Not mention mass killing, deportation of local population and attempts at exterminating local culture to replace it with russians.

You online commie roleplayers are so boring! You spam the same dull copytext/images.

But the cherry on top is how it so clear how you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about.

There is a high likelihood you’ve never even been to say Estonia or Poland. You’ve probably never even spoken to a Danish or Latvian person in your life (let alone being friends with them)!

You just found some regressive gibberish online and are parroting it in some fucked up online roleplay thing.

I am curious about that one, got a link? I mean it would make sense, seeing as there is a correlation between how processed a food is and the amount of microplastics in it and they couldn’t afford that, but I guess you’re referring to something else?

Also, who’s the BIA or did you mean CIA?

The funny thing is even the pro-putin russians would be extremely suspicious of the tankie rhetoric (while appreciating the support for gencidal imperialism and rejection of self-determination for occupied nations) due to sheer level of disconnection from reality.
