Hello everyone! Is there any alternative to android auto for a degoogled phone running microG? I mean, one that can connect on " android auto ready” devices.

I tried the first method on a degoogled phone a few months ago. Doesn’t work 😕

Been meaning to try the second method.

I use the second method on a phone using /e/OS, it works perfectly. I do not need any google app (maps, store, text to speech) to make it works.

Not totally. My wife started a shared google calendar a few years ago. So I use davx⁵ to synchronise my old gmail account (only the calendar part). One day, I’ll convert her to another solution.

As I use some applications from the play store (with the open-source frontend from e/os, applounge) , I had to activate a few options from microG.

Working on GrapheneOS, but not a feature worth buying a new device for IMO.

I wish there was a way to hide play services apps from each other. I want to listen to audiobooks in Kobo while driving (i already own some) but the app doesnt support playback while Android Auto is running

This is my method. Yeah, it sucks I’m still running Google Play Services. But at least its sandboxed on GrapheneOS, restricted to a separate profile, and I only run that profile while driving. I have a mapping and music app in that profile and that’s all I need for a full AA experience.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have a motorola G84, so one can always dream in have graphene on it, due to the motorola grapheneOS deal.
