…there wouldn’t be a Jerry for Tom to chase anymore. And, depending on the owl (e.g. an Eurasian Eagle-owl, Bubo bubo), there wouldn’t be a Tom, either (yes, an owl can hitch a domestic cat if she’s large and powerful enough, there’s even a photo I once saw depicting this happening and the cat seemed to be very confused “y aM fAlling upwArDs!? meoww?!”).

“Hootie” (or “Ollie”) would bring about the ultimate end for the entire cartoon in the first episode she were to be featured, perhaps in the first three seconds of her appearance. And this end would be the most quick and the most silent end for a cartoon, like, ever.

Hard to defeat a big Bubo bubo when you got no wings and not even half the size of the Featherly Queen of all birds. Best case scenario for them, Tom would end up squeezed together with Jerry inside Jerry’s shelter, both trapped inside, both shaking intensely and fearing for their lives as Ollie surrounds the entrance, the whole place shaking as she does an evil laughing “Hoo-hoo-hoooo, hoooo, hoooo”. The big Ollie’s talons with sharp claws would be visible hovering next to the floor at the other side of the entrance as she’s prowling and encircling it. Tom’s stomach would start rumbling, both Tom and Jerry look at each one’s eyes, Jerry with a face asking for Tom’s mercy and Tom with a sad face pointing at his own belly, Jerry closes his eyes sincerely and nods negatively, then both jump out of scare as the ground shakes again with another “hoo-hoooo” from Ollie, both Tom and Jerry would end up hugging tightly and trembling as Ollie peeks at the entrance with her large, scary orange eyes, owl’s typical grumpy face, ear tufts doubling as devilish horns before she does the Bubo bubo-esque smile at them and tries to squeeze her talon through the shelter’s entrance towards them both, who are already pushing against the wall.

Maybe they could team up with Kau* the raven and hope he and his cawing friends could shoo her away “and once again the day was saved by Kau, for now… (credits unroll)”. But guess this is as anticlimactic as my sadistic storytelling. lol

    *: Wordpun for “caw!” (a crow’s call)
