Not all pasta however is the long thin strand necessary to be classed as a noodle. I absolutely despise the continued american assault on language. Words have meaning, even if americans are too stupid to understand the concept.

English is not my native tongue, but going by Wikipedia (written by native speakers I hope) “noodle” does in fact refer to a lot more than “long thin strands”, as does the source words nudel (German) / noedel (Dutch) in their respective languages.
I’m sure words have never once changed meaning in your country.
