I really like Bill Hicks, but because he was so on point about stuff then (~35 years ago!) I have found it hard to watch his stuff for the last decade. So great, but too real. I hate that I struggle to find it funny now like I did then.

      But great share! Totally relevant.

This was reported for rule 3 no politics.

Its a pun. A political pun that makes it 50% not politics? And the comments are mostly chill.

Not going to make a big stink,

But can you put whatever political statement that was inferred into a sentence?

Because there was no actual comment on any political issue in the text.

When people report things and i dont take action on the report, i like to add a little comment saying why.

Its not needed but i like to let people know we listen to reports.

Your post is still up. It touches on politics (a political commentator, a political party), but yeah its mostly about a pun, and i can get behind a pun.

It’d be hilarious if they wheeled out mummified Rush for a tour with fellow authoritarian mouthpiece Jeremy Bentham

I wonder if they can do that with Charlie Kirk? I wouldn’t put it past them, and his wife is very likely to go along with it.

I’d watch someone puppet Rush’s bloated corpse.

      Call me morbidly curious.

Easy there Joey Hottake. Neil explained and evolved his position over the years and he was no right-wing faux-republican twit like your comment suggests.

Dude was high as fuck, a brilliant lyricist, and also one of the greatest drummers ever.

A “Showerthought” is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you’re doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

  • Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
  • When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
  • More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as “capitalism” and “communism”. If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy’s Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
