Hey so when I was like a 11 I had pinched this baby to make it cry and I knew it would cry and then I did the same thing to a toddler at my church one time. And then like one time I was playing with another girl who was younger in kind of like an older brother to sister kind of way and I was holding one of her legs and lifted it up. But she was wearing a skirt and her underwear has kinda shown. . I wouldn’t dare do any of this today. I am now 21 and it never bothered me until now, and I just hope I’m not a bad person.

I once dropped a puppy to see if it would land on its feet.

    I was four.

Children have to learn/develop empathy. It’s ok that you lacked it at one point. It’s wonderful you have it today. Never listen to anyone who says it’s a sin.

This is the first reply I’ve received on LEMM. It’s really interesting. Thank you.

    Calm down, Hitler.

Three incidences of childish behaviour a decade ago won’t make you good or bad.

I beg to differ. It’s obvious this person is evil reincarnated. They’ll probably pinch Satan when they are burning in hell.

I kicked another kid in the face, pulled a girls hair, pissed on someone’s car, threw stones at windows, stole other kids toys, all before the age of 8.

All bad things that I now know were wrong. But I was a child. As were you, so it’s nothing to worry about if you recognise your wrongdoings.

I know. I’m just someone that when I feel guilty or convicted about something I take it pretty hard. Especially recently

Recognise that your feelings of guilt are signs of maturity and growth. If you looked back with no issue then I would be concerned. But that’s not the case.

Try not to dwell on things that happened a decade+ ago. You’re not the same person. Learn from it and move on.

Thanks I appreciate it. I don’t know why but lately I’ve just been thinking about all the bad things I did in the past.

Noone can tell if youre a bad person based on this. But youre definitely not the same person as back then. To the better or worse, who knows. Its in the past, you cant change it, but you can make sure that you wont be doing stuff like that (or adult equivalents) in the future. Dont bury the memories, keep them as a reminder but also dont beat yourself up over it too much.

Humans aren’t born with very strong impulse control, it’s something that is typically learned over the years. I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much over childhood indiscretions, that from your accounts seem pretty harmless.

I’d say you’re a pretty good person. Taking responsibility and accountability for your past actions and learning from them is a good thing.

You did shitty things. We’ve all done wrong at some point in our lives. As long as you’re actively trying to be better today than you were yesterday, you’re alright.

Okay. Because I have like, adhd and I take medication for it but I have been without the medication for weeks (long story) and ever since then my mind has been bothering me about a lot of things from the past. I don’t know if that has anything to do with OCD or not but
