The activity of doing your own mental work is often the worthier part of any intellectual pursuit. It is in this process of doing that we develop our personal abilities and independent insights. For this, there is no possible replacement.

    Absolutely agree, but I’m continuously surprised at how many people don’t WANT to think for themselves. It’s not that they lack the ability or their IQ is too low, they simply have decided to outsource their goddamn morality. That’s perhaps worse than simple ignorance.

      It’s really not surprising when you think about it. Evolution favored individuals in our species who worked smarter, not harder. We’re the quintessential shortcut pilled species, that’s why we made tools and discovered fire. Of course we’re going to full send it all the way to outsourcing thinking

      Imagine meeting your Creator and when he asks you why you cheated on/abused your wife and destroyed your family and their psyches, or why you supported ideologically and financially the death and destruction of innocents around the world, or why you spread corruption in the land for coin, among other questions and you’re just “idk 🤷”.

      The ‘I was just following orders!’ folks will burn in Hell forever, and the ‘but I didn’t know!’ when they could’ve easily known is definitely there in great numbers as well…
