I make ice cream for a living, and you can make ice cream out of anything. That doesn’t mean you should.
I had lobster ice cream. Only 2 bites. Can’t imagine eating more.
I can also have my penis pierced. My desire for both is roughly equal.
lol
Salt & Straw had a prosciutto and melon flavor last month. It was outstanding. Salt is magic.
This one is not exclusive of the Americans, here in Spain each year there’s some enlightened individuals that come up with something like onion, chorizo, callos or morcilla ice cream.
NO.
no i can not.
Technically you could…
The kink community has finally gone too far.
Had it. It’s fucking disgusting. Avoid.
Kith Treats X Katz’s Delicatessen Review: Pastrami Has No Business In Ice Cream
lol! As expected. That sounds absolutely horrific.
The one-two punch of pastrami seasoning and mustard seeds utterly dominated this dessert. Whatever light and smooth attributes that once existed for Kith’s vanilla ice cream succumbed to the tastes and sandy textures borrowed from the smoked meats from Katz’s.
Mmm dessert
Mmm dessert
That’s the issue. Ice cream is solidly secure as a sweet dessert ONLY.
But what if we could change that perception, and create a savory, less sweet ice cream that is meant to be served as part of the meal, as an appetizer, or a side dish?
Creating the savory ice cream is easy, it’s changing the perception that’s difficult.
More like desert with that sandy texture
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should
I can but I won’t.
You can make anything you want into an ice cream flavor, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea
Def not kosher.
Latest addition to my list of horrible blasphemy that should not exist.
I wanna try popcorn/butter flavored ice cream. It sounds weird, but everything I have seen from people who generally have similar tastes as I do have claimed it is so good it is now their favorite flavor.
I remember the first time I tried jalepeno fudge chocolate cake. I guess it’s not necessarily that oddball — and if you go back to how the Aztecs drank their chocolate, doing so with spices was a thing — but I remember being really surprised that mixing sweet with something that I normally thought of as savory would work so well.
When I was kid, my parents came back from a party, and my mom told me about the spicy chocolate brownies they had. She made them, and I fell in love with spicy chocolate.
I used to own an ice cream shop, and we had two spicy ice creams - Mayan Chocolate (Chocolate, Cinnamon, Cayenne), and Honey Cinnamon En Fuego (Honey, Cinnamon, Cayenne). Both were extremely popular. Many told me that it was literally addicting. If they went a week without it, they’d start getting cravings for it.
I once made the En Fuego with Ghost Pepper powder, and got on a couple of local news programs with it. It was insanely hot, nobody finished it.
Skittles had a short run of a spicy version of the candy, and they were amazing. If they were a regular thing, I’d end up getting Skittles all the time. 😅
