I turned off the heat and opened windows, as it’s supposed to get several degrees warmer yet before cooling down. Sure it’s a bit cold from an objective standpoint, but it’s only 60 (15.6C) in my place in winter anyway and very dry, so feels similar. Cats are thrilled to be able to smell outside for the first time in months.

The crisp damp air (from snowmelt) feels absolutely lovely, especially after a couple weeks ago when it hit -12 (-24.4C) for two days. It’s certainly alarming to have the temp as it is in February, but it feels nice. And oh man don’t get me started on getting rid of the stale air!

Anyway, it’s a lovely day and I just wanted to share :)

10C. Norwegians are wearing T-shirts. Spanish and Portuguese are wearing winter jackets. British are complaining about the weather.

25C. Norwegians are passing out from the intense heat. Spanish and Portuguese are feeling nearly comfortable. British are complaining about the weather.

It’s for sure barefoot t-shirt weather! (Just have to avoid all the puddles!)

I definitely prefer warm though, right around 30c/85f is ideal for me.

        30C

Spanish and Portuguese are comfortable enough to take off T-shirts sometimes. Norwegians already died of heat. British are complaining about the weather.

Summer nights over 20 = no sleep, almost drowning in sweat. 30 degrees = holy shit we’re all dying and the freezer is too small to sit in.

As a Norwegian, I would kill for some 10 degrees about now. After the Olympics though, gotta win some more gold first.

I was contemplating if it was warm enough to open windows but I consider it just shy. If I had a south facing or even west it might be doable.

rn, it’s 20 out, and it’s pure bliss 😁. I especially love the slow breeze that sometimes blows. It’s a lovely break from the summers where I live, where it’s usually 30 degrees

That would be cold as heck here, but we are also in open windows season, with nights near 50 and days skirting 80 (10 to 25 ish) and yeah it’s so nice to have fresh air and it finally rained last night, we are in an unfortunate drought after a disappointing rainy season last year.

I went somewhere this weekend where it was 19 and sunny. I crisped up pink like a shrimp.

I’m out of practice with sun.

mmmm that sounds lovely, other than the star damage. Tho for exactly that reason I’m a big fan of gradual spring over sudden nice days. Give you a few days of “not warm enough for more than a couple hours” acclimation.

I feel you. I live in a cold climate where it can hit the negative fifties during the winter with wind chill. But lately its been a balmy +3 or so (dunno what this is in F but its just above freezing). Feels good to have the windows open and let some fresh air in.

37.4, I can see that. I don’t open the windows at that temp (45f/7.2c is about the lowest I’ll go) because I have a turtle, but I do very much enjoy going outside when it hits solidly above freezing.

I think around 14 yrs now? They can live a max of like 20, so not doing too bad. His tank mate died a year back tho, so he’s been pretty lonely. Super friendly variety, likes interacting with my fingers.

They are reeves turtles, aka Asian pond turtles, and get a max of about 4 inches, so real tiny. My male topped out at 2 inches and the female got 4. They aren’t common in the US because their max size is just at the lower limit for selling turtles so they have to be fully mature adults before sale. I bought mine as newly hatched research animals, because that’s a loophole. :)

That’s interesting that they only have a 20 year lifespan, I always thought turtles lived to be like 100+ years or something. I guess it depends on the species
